Jaylor Tykia Garrett, 25 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she tried to destroy evidence during a traffic stop on GA 20 at Norton Road.

Police said that Garrett failed to yield the right of way when she pulled out of a business in front of another vehicle.  Reports said that Garrett then followed the vehicle at an unsafe distance before being stopped by law enforcement.

While being stopped, Garrett allegedly threw an open bottle of tequila out of the passenger side window.  Garrett is then accused of resisting officers by pulling away while being handcuffed.  She then told police that they would “have to shoot her”.

A marijuana cigarette was also found in Garrett’s possession.

Garrett is charged with possession of marijuana, tampering with evidence, following too closely, vehicle entering roadway and obstruction.
