Rome Man Accused of Allegedly Running Fake Return Scheme at Hibbett Sports

Usvaldo Guzman-Ambriz, 25 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he stole nearly $4,000 in cash from Hibbit Sports at Mount Berry Mall.

Reports said that Guzman-Ambriz created fictitious returns/receipts and personally took $3,824 in cash.

The scheme allegedly occurred between August 3 and August 21, 2026.

Guzman-Ambriz is charged with felony theft by deception.
