A 31-year-old Calhoun man is facing multiple felony charges following a reported child molestation incident at a private residence off Dews Pond Road in the Cash community. According to the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the home after receiving a report that a child molestation had just occurred. The complainant reported interrupting the alleged offense in progress.
Upon arrival, deputies located the alleged offender, identified as Ray Sum, 31, of Calhoun, and took him into custody without incident.
Authorities said the alleged victim is a preschool-aged juvenile.
Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Sum is facing charges of aggravated child molestation, aggravated sodomy and child molestation.
