Billy Moses Loveless left this Earth on August 11, 2026. He was born in Floyd County on April 16, 1932, to Mose and Ruby Smith Loveless.
There could be a lot to say about 94 years on this Earth, but if you knew him you knew the kind of man he was, so nothing more to be said. He had lived his life and was ready to go home.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Mattie Belle Camp Loveless; a grandson, Blaze Culpepper; and siblings, A.C., Junior, Betty, Jimmy, Peggy, Roger, Gary, Joyce and Myra.
His morning text, colorful emojis, and continued guidance will be missed by his daughters; Jean Cornelison (Ken), Jane Elliott (David), Debra Story (Jeff), and Melinda Rayburn (Mark).
He also leaves his grandchildren, Ashley Burris (B.J.), Luke Martin (Sarah), Trent Rayburn (Amber), Heather Vernon (Timothy), Madison Martin (LaRae); great-grandchildren, Emma, Jackson, William, and Lucy Burris, Olivia and Ruth Martin, Henry and Claire Martin, Mattie, Gloria, and Darcie Vernon, Tessa and Mack Watson, and a special nephew, James Camp, whom he had “very lively” phone conversations with every afternoon. He is also survived by brothers, J.R. and Bobby Loveless.
A service to honor and remember Bill will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 16, 2026, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, with Dr. Jerry Dudley officiating. There will be a chance to speak to the family following the service. Interment will take place at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, is honored to serve the family of Billy Moses Loveless.
