Mark McGill Espy, 51 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he physically and emotionally injured his 74 year-old mother.
Reports said that Espy screamed in his mothers face because she would not allow him to use her car. Espy then allegedly struck the top of his mother’s head with his chin.
The incident occurred at their home on Wentworth Place.
Espy is charged with simple battery and exploitation of the elderly/disabled.
