Tyjah Jhanard Howell, 26 of Rockmart, was arrested this week after reports said he was found in possession of drugs during a traffic stop on Reservoir Street.
Police said that they stopped the vehicle for driving without its headlights on after dark. Officers then noticed that the vehicle’s registration had been expired since May.
Officers then stated that Howell was driving on a CP license. The passenger in the vehicle reportedly fled on foot so officers were not able to verify if they were over 21 years of age.
A search of the vehicle then resulted officers locating marijuana along with drug related objects such as trays, wraps and rolling papers.
Howell is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug related objects, driving in violation of license class, operation of an unregistered vehicle and a headlight violation.
