Mrs. Bonnie Jean Doegg, age 88, of Rome, Georgia, passed away in the comfort of her home on Saturday, June 6, 2026.
Born on November 22, 1937, in Etowah County, Alabama, Bonnie was the daughter of the late Bonnie Thomas Stockton and Hazel Ruth Stockton. In addition to her beloved parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her brothers, Bob Stockton and Dick Stockton.
A graduate of Cherokee County High School in Centre, Alabama, she was a proud cheerleader, and it was there that she met her future husband, Donald. Alongside her husband, she owned and operated Putt-Putt Golf & Games for over four decades. Both were proud Alabama football fans for life.
Bonnie was a devout Christian and was baptized at First Baptist Church of Hokes Bluff, Alabama. After moving to Rome, she joined Garden Lakes Baptist Church where she was a faithful member for more than 40 years. Bonnie cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and extended family, all of whom she loved dearly and was immensely proud of. She will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and the love she shared with those around her.
Those left behind to honor her memory are her two loving sons, Keith Doegg (Kay) and Gary Doegg; her grandchildren, Kyle Doegg (Cate), Zac Doegg (Natalie), Jeanie Paige McWhorter (Ben), and Kady Storey (Jake); her great-grandchildren, Rayne and Jolie McWhorter, Davis Doegg, Husdon and Avery Doegg, and Grady Storey; her siblings, Bill Stockton (JoAnn), Terry Stockton (Martha), and Diane Peet (Gary); her sister-in-law, Shirley Stockton; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel, with the Pastor Jason Stockton officiating. Interment will take place in Cherokee Memory Gardens in Centre, AL.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, Oaknoll Chapel.
