Mr. Richard W. Milner, Sr., age 88, of Rome

  Mr. Richard W. Milner, Sr., age 88, of Rome, GA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at a local healthcare facility.

       Richard was born on August 4, 1937, in Barnesville, GA, son of the late John Holmes Milner, Jr. and the late Sarah Burns Milner. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jane Hope Milner; the mother of his children, Sandra Faye Fleming Milner; his sister, Carolyn Keen (Beeman) and his brother, John Holmes Milner, III (Carol); and his son-in-law, Labron Newberry. 

       Survivors include his children, Cynthia Newberry (Max Sewell), Richard ‘Ricky’ Willis Milner, Jr. (Janice), and John Holmes Milner, IV (Magali); his grandchildren, Maleia Parris (Justin), Melody Milner, John Holmes Milner, V, Emily Newberry (Scott Schumacher), Erin Newberry, Elizabeth Newberry, Lauren Ittiavira (Basil), Richard Willis Milner, III, and Madeleine Milner; his 4 great-grandchildren; his brothers, George Milner (Joy) and Tim Milner (Brenda); nieces and nephews.

       Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 11:00am at New Armuchee Baptist Church with Pastor Lucas Butler officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery in Zebulon, GA.

       The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the church from 10:00am until the hour of service.
