Joshua John Rodgers, 44 of Meansville, was arrested this week in Rome after reports said he assaulted a man at the Raceway on Shorter Avenue.

Police said that Rodgers opened the driver’s door to a 2007 Ford Super Duty truck, placed it in park, shut it off and attacked the man.  Reports stated that Rodgers grabbed the victim’s shirt, tearing it, and telling him to get out of the vehicle.

During the altercation, Rodgers is accused of breaking the victim’s mirror, causing an estimated $500 in damage.

Rodgers is then accused of taking a cellphone belonging to someone else with the intention of preventing them from calling 911 for help.

Rodgers is charged with simple assault, criminal trespass and obstruction of a person making a 911 call.
