Edith Rebecca Gaskill, 59 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she tortured a dog named Buck at a home on Leafmore Road.
Police stated that Gaskill allowed the animal to suffer through severe dental disease, overgrown nails, a large mass on the left ear, and a possible ear canal, which made the dog scream in pain during examination. Police added that the dog suffered severe generalized alopecia, crust, macules, seborrhea, lichenification, and mild pruritis. The animal’s blood work showed systematic inflamation likely due to severe skin and ear infections.
Gaskill is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.
