Meelyn Marie Battle, 35 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she allowed her two children to be truant from school.
Police said that Battle allowed one child to miss 27 unexcused days of school this year and a second 28 unexcused days.
Reports said that Battle was given a truancy warning for both children in February and yet failed to correct the issues.
Battle is charged with two counts mandatory education of children.
