Mr. Billy Wayne Overby, age 79, of Silver Creek

Mr. Billy Wayne Overby, age 79, of Silver Creek, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at his residence.

Mr. Overby was born in Rome, Georgia on December 26, 1946, son of the late Martin Overby and the late Eva Mae Fortune Overby. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving during the Vietnam War. Mr. Overby was of the Church of God of Prophecy faith and retired from Kellogg’s. He loved cars and coin collecting, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandsons.

Mr. Overby is survived by his wife, Shelia Gresham Overby; two children, Blakeley Hovers (Gary) and Shanna Crutchfield (Tommy); grandchildren, Christopher, Camden, Logan, and Lauren; two great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Private graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Floyd Memory Gardens with Rev. Trey Stephens officiating.
