The AdventHealth Gordon Foundation recently awarded the healthcare careers scholarship to a local senior from Calhoun High School during the school’s annual senior scholarship awards night, recognizing a student whose academic achievements, leadership and commitment to serving others reflect the values of compassionate care and community impact.
The scholarship was awarded to Daniela Sanchez for demonstrating excellence both inside and outside the classroom through academic achievement, leadership involvement and community service. Her dedication to personal growth and desire to help others made her a standout recipient for the scholarship award.
““Throughout my experiences with my internship, CNA and EMT clinicals, I have had the opportunity to really interact one on one with patients,” said Sanchez. “Seeing how much a smile can brighten a patient’s day on one of the worst days of their lives is such a special feeling.”
The scholarship was presented by Garrett Nudd, president of the AdventHealth Georgia Foundation, as the student prepares to graduate from Calhoun High School and continue her education at Mercer University.
“At AdventHealth, we believe investing in students and future leaders is one of the most meaningful ways we can strengthen the health and well-being of our communities,” said Garrett Nudd, president of the AdventHealth Georgia Foundation.
“Daniela’s hard work, character and passion for making a difference made her an exceptional choice for this scholarship, and we are excited to support her as she begins this next chapter at Mercer University.”
The AdventHealth Gordon Foundation Healthcare Careers Scholarship reflects AdventHealth’s commitment to supporting education, strengthening local communities and investing in the next generation of leaders across Northwest Georgia.
The AdventHealth Gordon Foundation also awarded scholarships to two additional worthy recipients who are already pursuing their degrees in college: Caitlyn Petty, who is studying kinesiology and exercise science at the University of North Georgia, and Katie Dillard, who is pursuing nursing at Berry College.
The AdventHealth Georgia Foundation partners with donors and community organizations to support programs and initiatives that advance whole-person care, expand access to health services and enhance the lives of patients, familiesand communities throughout the region. Sanchez plans to pursue a career in nursing and eventually become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
