Sherry Kathy Thomas, 27 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she refused to pick up her children from school.
Reports stated that West Central School officials attempted to reach out to Thomas at the end of the school day by phone and at her home. Thomas then informed the biological father that she would not be picking up the child, telling him that it was not her problem and that he needed to figure it out.
Police said that the incident occurred back on March 20th.
Thomas is charged with two counts 1st degree cruelty to children and three counts of abandonment of a dependent child.
