The Gordon County Sheriff’s Office continues to strengthen its K9 capabilities following the completion of specialized training by two of its handlers.

Between April 22 and April 26, K9 handlers Lindsey Azar and Cody Jones attended advanced man-tracking training in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. The course, hosted by K Star, focused exclusively on techniques used to locate individuals in a variety of conditions and terrains.

SFC Azar and Detective Jones work with the Sheriff’s Office bloodhounds, Maggie and Max. The K9 teams are routinely called upon to track fugitives and assist in searches for missing persons throughout the region.

The training provided both handlers and their K9 partners with enhanced skills aimed at improving tracking effectiveness and response capabilities.
