A local organization born out of tragedy and transformed into a source of hope has been recognized as the Polk County Chamber of Commerce 2025 Non-Profit Award winner. Moms United, founded by Neidra Chubb, received the honor for its work supporting mothers and families coping with the loss of a child.
The award was presented by Haley Lewis of Hud’s Heart, the 2024 Non-Profit Award recipient.
Chubb established Moms United in 2018 following the devastating loss of her son, Jr., to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). In the midst of her grief, she said she felt called to create a ministry where no mother would have to endure such pain alone.
That calling led to the creation of Moms United, which has since grown into a supportive community for grieving mothers. The organization provides a space for women to share their stories, connect with others facing similar losses, and find strength through shared experiences.
Under Chubb’s leadership, Moms United has partnered with local funeral homes and hospitals to assist families with burial services, grief support, and access to therapy resources. The group also extends its outreach into the community by working with shelters to promote safe sleep practices, providing grief baskets to families, and hosting diaper drives.
At its core, Moms United focuses on helping bereaved mothers and families navigate the difficult path of rebuilding their lives after the loss of a child. Through continued advocacy and compassion, the organization aims to ensure that no mother has to face grief alone.
