Rome City Schools officials have scheduled a called meeting for Monday to consider allocating $460,082 toward a one-time bonus for employees who are not eligible for a state-funded salary supplement.
According to district leaders, the proposed funding would provide a salary supplement to support staff and other employees who were excluded from recent state-level bonus initiatives. The move is intended to ensure a more equitable distribution of financial recognition across the school system.
School officials said the supplement would be distributed as a one-time bonus rather than a permanent salary increase. If approved, all qualifying employees within the Rome City School System would receive the additional compensation.
District leaders emphasized that the proposal reflects ongoing efforts to recognize the contributions of all staff members, particularly those who play vital roles in daily school operations but may not always be included in statewide funding measures.
The called meeting will take place Monday, where board members are expected to review the proposal and vote on the allocation. If approved, the district will move forward with plans to distribute the funds in the coming months.
