A 26-year-old Calhoun woman was arrested in Polk County following a reported domestic disturbance that escalated into violence and led to charges of simple battery and obstruction, according to authorities. Deputies responded to a residence on Perry Street after receiving a 911 hang-up call. While en route, dispatchers advised that the caller had reconnected and reported that his girlfriend, identified as Aaliyah Heaven Lanae Huskins, was intoxicated and physically assaulting him.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with both individuals at the home. The complainant told deputies that Huskins had been drinking since approximately 11 a.m. and had become highly intoxicated and aggressive. He stated the altercation began during a personal dispute involving a third individual, which allegedly caused Huskins to become jealous and irate.

According to the report, Huskins began attempting to knock over items inside the residence, causing damage, before the third party left. The complainant alleged that Huskins then turned her aggression toward him, striking him multiple times. He provided officers with video footage that appeared to capture part of the altercation, including him asking her to stop.

Officers observed Huskins exit the home wearing only a T-shirt and appearing heavily intoxicated. After being asked to put on additional clothing, she briefly sat in a vehicle in the driveway before returning inside. Deputies attempted to de-escalate the situation and encouraged her to go to bed.

However, shortly after, officers reported hearing loud noises from inside the residence. The complainant exited and told deputies that Huskins had thrown his laptop and spit on him. At that point, officers entered the home and placed Huskins under arrest.

During the arrest, authorities said Huskins resisted, becoming combative and struggling with deputies as they attempted to escort her to a patrol vehicle. Officers ultimately carried her to the car after repeated resistance. She continued to struggle before being secured in the back seat.

Huskins was transported to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and turned over to jail staff without further incident.

She is charged with simple battery and obstruction.
