Bryson Keith Compton, 27 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he failed to provide adequate food and water for his dog.
The report said that Compton’s dog was found on a body scale of 1 out of 10. The animal’s ribs, lumbar, vertebrae, pelvic bones and all bony prominences were evident from a distance, with no discernible body fat and obvious muscle loss. The animal also showed a voracious appetite and severe dehydration.
Compton is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.
