Joseph Michael Cox, 31 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said that he committed a hit and run while driving on a suspended license.
Police said that Cox failed to yield the right of way at the intersection of East 12th Street at Highland Avenue and crashed into another vehicle. Cox then allegedly fled the scene.
Police said that Cox’s license were suspended due to at least four previous driving while license suspended convictions.
Cox is charged with hit and run, driving on a suspended license and vehicle entering roadway.
