Billy Joe Pugh Jr, 45 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he became physical with a 48 year-old woman at their home on East Little Indian Trail.
Reports said that Pugh hit the woman on the left side of her face near her eye. Officers stated that they observed swelling and redness on her face.
Pugh then allegedly threw water on the victim while she was sitting on the couch. He then reportedly tried to grab her cellphone when she began to record his actions.
Pugh is charged with battery and two counts simple battery.
