Major intersection improvements are moving forward for Riverside Parkway and Loop 1 near AdventHealth Stadium, with Northwest Georgia Paving of Calhoun emerging as the apparent low bidder on the project.
The proposed upgrades are designed to improve traffic flow in one of the city’s busiest corridors while minimizing disruptions during peak school hours and afternoon rush periods. City officials say the work will enhance safety and efficiency for motorists traveling through the area.
Northwest Georgia Paving submitted a bid of $1,588,988.60, coming in under the project’s estimated $1.7 million budget. Four competitive bids were received in total, including proposals from Glosson Enterprises, C.W. Matthews Construction, JHC Corp., and Northwest Georgia Paving.
The City Engineering Office, in partnership with EXP consultants and with support from GDOT, is currently reviewing the bids to finalize the contract award.
Construction is expected to begin 30 to 45 days after a Notice to Proceed is issued, with an anticipated timeline of approximately 270 days to complete the improvements.
City leaders say additional updates will be shared as the project advances, calling the upgrades an important investment in the community’s infrastructure and continued growth.
