Jamarla Ahenae McKinney, 39 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said the principal of Johnson Elementary School refused to allow her child to leave with her.
Reports said that Principal April Cummings refused to allow the child to leave with McKinney because she thought that she had been drinking.
Police stated that McKinney then proceeded to get physical with the principal, leaving visible injuries to her left shoulder. The child allegedly witnessed the incident.
Reports added that an open container of alcohol was found inside McKinney’s vehicle.
McKinney is charged with simple battery, cruelty to children, disruption of a public school, and open container violation.
