Rome Man Jailed After Making Fraudulent Purchases

Jeremy Wayne Johnston, 46 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he defrauded Air Gas out of over $1,300 in merchandise.

Reports said that Johnson told the company that he worked for LPR Construction in Colorado before getting $1.347.30 worth of merchandise.

Police said Johnson signed paperwork charging the company for the items.

Johnston is charged with for 1^st degree forgery and theft by deception.
