Voters in Northwest Georgia’s 14th Congressional District face an unusually crowded ballot as 22 candidates compete to fill the seat vacated by former U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
The special election, scheduled for March 10, will feature all candidates on a single ballot regardless of party affiliation. The field includes 17 Republicans, three Democrats, one Libertarian and one Independent. With so many contenders, a runoff election on April 7 appears likely if no candidate secures a majority.

Candidates come from across the districts counties, with the largest group — four candidates — hailing from Paulding County. Cobb, Dade, Floyd and Whitfield counties each produced three candidates. Additional contenders are from Catoosa, Coweta, Fulton, Polk and Walker counties.

Republican Colton Moore of Trenton, an auctioneer and truck driver, resigned from the Georgia Senate earlier this week to enter the congressional race.

The Democratic candidates are Shawn Harris of Cedartown, Jonathan Hobbs of Dallas and Jim Davis of Floyd County. Rob “Rush” Ruszkowski of Dade County is running as an Independent, while Andrew Underwood of Walker County is the Libertarian candidate.

The Republican field includes Tom Gray of Powder Springs, James Marty Brown of Tunnel Hill, Jennifer Jaye Turnipseed of Chickamauga, Brian Stover of Dallas, Star Black of Kennesaw, Megahn Strickland of Marietta, Christian Michael Hurd of Rocky Face, Reagan Box of Rome, Beau Brown of Silver Creek, Colton Moore and Clayton McLean Fuller of Trenton, Jared Craig of Coweta County, Nicky Lama of Whitfield County, Trey Kelly of Fulton County, Eric Cunningham and James Edward Tully of Paulding County, and Larry E. Hilley of Catoosa County.
