Ms. Pauline Fairchild Dean Strickland, age 90, of Lindale, GA, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025, at a local hospital.

Ms. Strickland was born and raised in Dorset, OH, on September 19, 1935, daughter of the late Paul Fairchild and the late Evaline Weir Fairchild, from Dorset, OH. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Linton G. Strickland, the father of her children, William Dean, two sons, Dan Dean and Chuck Dean, a step-son, Dennis Strickland, a granddaughter, Candy Clines, two great-grandchildren, Jarret Higgins and Kaylon Higgins, and by a sister, Josephine Holley. Ms. Strickland graduated as Valedictorian from Dorset High School. She was known as the “original Dunkin Donuts lady of West Rome” from her many years spent working 3rd shift at the restaurant. She retired from Redmond Regional Hospital (now Advent-Redmond Hospital) as the Dietary Supervisor after years spent working her way up the ladder in the nutrition department. Ms. Strickland was a member of First Baptist Church of Lindale, GA, and also attended Life Church with her daughter.

Kind-hearted, mild-mannered, and not easily angered are just a few words used to describe Ms. Strickland. She was the most caring person and had the sweetest disposition about her. Ms. Strickland genuinely cared about everyone and was always willing to listen, taking her time to respond, making sure she chose her words carefully to impart as much wisdom as possible. She was involved in every aspect of her family’s lives but never inserted herself where she didn’t belong. Ms. Strickland would give the shirt off her back to anyone that needed help. She loved playing BINGO at the VFW every Friday night and, in her younger days, loved line dancing at the Western Promenade. Ms. Strickland is now rejoicing, reunited with many of her family, in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for eternity.

Survivors include four children, Janet Robertson, Richard Dean (Becky), Tom Dean (Cindy), and Mike Dean; three step-children, David Strickland, Pamela Nealy, and Patricia Abernathy; 3 siblings, Doris Meckley (Larry), Margaret Ketchem, and Larry Fairchild; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Monday, December 8, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Lindale, GA, with her Pastor, Eric Whelchel, officiating the service. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.
