On November 19, 2025; David Akin and Beverly Akin, both of Centre, AL were arrested on Grand Jury Indictment of Theft of Property 1st.
In late September of 2025, the Centre Police Department received a report regarding missing funds from the Cherokee County Youth Football League.
Centre PD initiated an investigation based on the reported allegation. This investigation led to the discovery of a substantial amount of money being misappropriated.
The case was brought forth and presented before a Grand Jury in early November of 2025.
There the Grand Jury found that there was sufficient evidence to charge David and Beverly Akin with felony theft.
