Alex Hakeem Flood, 17 of Marietta, was jailed in Rome after running from police on North Broad Street.
Reports said that officers were attempting to take Flood into custody for shoplifting from the Dollar General when he refused to comply and ran away.
Police added that Flood stole $133.50 worth of items.
Flood is charged with theft by shoplifting and obstruction.
