Jayce Alan Lee Atkins, 18 of Lindale, was arrested this week after reports said he starved animals at a home on Callier Springs Road.
Police said that Akins failed to provide food and water to the animals. One of the dogs, Mia, was found very emaciated with her ribs, lumbar, vertebrae and other bony prominences easily visible. She was given a 2 out of 9 on the Purina Body Conditioning Scale.
A second animal, Dodger, was also found severely emaciated with his ribs, lumbar, vertebrae, pelvic bones and other bony prominences easily seen at a distance.
Atkins is charged with two counts aggravated cruelty to animals.
