Atlanta Woman Jailed in Rome After Using Counterfeit Money to Make Purchases

Essence Ja’Nia Mitchell, 24 of Atlanta, was arrested in Rome after she allegedly attempted to pass counterfeit cash at Kroger and Academy Sports.

Police said that Mitchell attempted to pass a counterfeit $100 bill at both locations with the intent to defraud the stores.

Mitchell is charged with two counts first degree forgery.
