Ronnie Jackson Vanmeter, 26 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he burglarized a home on Walters Street.
Police said that Vanmeter went into the home and stole house and car keys belonging to the resident. Reports added that the incident occurred in front of a 1 year-old child.
Authorities went on to say that after officers located Vanmeter they found him in possession of suspected Xanax.
Vanmeter is charged with first degree burglary, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, and 3rd degree cruelty to children.
