On the morning of September 9, 2025, Clara Mae Arnold Bullock woke up in the presence of Jesus. She was born on October 19, 1947, in Bartow County, Georgia, to the late Clarance Henry Arnold and Mildred Mae Pinson Arnold.

Clara was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Terry R. Bullock; her infant daughter, Tammie Elaine Bullock; her brother, Harvey Arnold; and her sister, Barbara Arnold Gentry.

Clara and Terry shared a beautiful love story. They first met when she was just 15 years old at a local pharmacy where Terry was working as a soda jerk. They married on September 17, 1965, and spent 57 wonderful years together, raising a family built on love and faith. Clara graduated from Taylorsville High School in 1965 and joyfully became a stay-at-home mother with the birth of their first child in 1968.

Clara was of the Baptist faith and a devoted member of Wax Baptist Church. She served faithfully as leader of the Baptist Young Women (BYW) and dedicated several years to teaching and leading Vacation Bible School, where she shared her love of Christ with children and families.

She leaves behind a legacy of love in her children, Angie Bullock Satcher (Keith), Todd Bullock (Vicky), Ted Bullock (Misty), and Travis Bullock (Stephanie). She was “Nana” to her cherished grandsons Isaac, Kody, John, and Joshua. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Clara lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and devotion to her family. She was a homemaker at heart, but also worked as a secretary for a time. She found joy in being a grade mother during her children’s school years and proudly served as a Cub Scout den mother. She enjoyed cross-stitching alongside her daughter Angie, treasured time spent in the kitchen cooking family favorites, and never missed an opportunity to create warm memories with her loved ones.

She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is reunited in Heaven with those who went before her.

“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” – 2 Corinthians 5:8
