A Silver Creek man has been charged with elder abuse following a 911 hang-up call that led police to a home on Relay Road. Glen Edward Rice, 59, was arrested recently after officers responded to two unanswered 911 calls. While en route to the residence, dispatch informed officers that a female caller had finally made contact, stating she wanted to “get away from her father”.
Officer Hopkins arrived at the scene around 8:33 p.m. and began an investigation into the situation. Based on the information gathered, Hopkins contacted Criminal Investigations Division Investigator Tucker and turned the case over for further investigation.
Rice was subsequently charged with elder abuse. No additional details about the victim or the nature of the alleged abuse have been released at this time.
