Shorter University has announced the hiring of Addy Talkington as the new head coach of its women’s lacrosse program.
Talkington brings a strong playing background to Shorter, having competed at Reinhardt University from 2020 to 2024 as both an attacker and midfielder. Over the course of her collegiate career, she appeared in 56 games, including 17 starts, and tallied 31 goals and 21 assists. Her tenure at Reinhardt was marked by success, with the team securing four conference titles and capturing the NAIA national championship in 2024.
Talkington steps into her first collegiate head coaching role as Shorter looks to strengthen its presence in women’s lacrosse.
She takes over for Abby McAninch, who coached the Hawks for two seasons. Shorter went 6-21, its best two-year record since it went 10-16 over the 2017 and 2018 seasons.
