Mr. John Richard Couey, age 59, of Kingston

Mr. John Richard Couey, age 59, of Kingston, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at a local hospital.

Mr. Couey was born in Rome, Georgia on May 29, 1966, son of John William Couey and the late Carolyn Ruth Hughes Couey. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Dixie Couey. Prior to becoming disabled, Mr. Couey worked in Maintenance at Swann Lake Mobile Home Park. He was of the Baptist faith and was an avid outdoorsman.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Couey (Stephanie) and Jonathan Couey (Selina); his father, John William Couey; a brother, Riley Couey; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; his service dog, Badger.

In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Couey will be cremated. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
