Mr. Gene Raymond Wiggins, age 87, of Rome, GA, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at his residence.
Mr. Wiggins was born on May 23, 1938, son of the late Raymond Wilbur Wiggins and the late Ruby Pearl Wimpee Wiggins. He was a member of Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Armuchee High School, and he served in the National Guard for 15 years. Prior to his retirement, he served his community as a Fireman for the City of Rome for 35 years and he was also head of the Fireman’s Charity Fund.
Survivors include his sons, Ramond “Randy” Wiggins (Halie) and Doug Wiggins; his grandchildren, Raymond Wiggins, Jr. (Kayla) and Josh Wiggins; his great grandchildren, Emma Wiggins, Addie Wiggins, and Austin Wiggins; his brother, Spencer Wiggins (Jerry); nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with Pastor Mac McCurry officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the hour of service on Monday, at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel.
