Michael Eric Shirah, 48 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he beat a 48 year-old woman on the back of the head with an unknown object.
Reports stated that the victim suffered a large laceration and lots of blood loss from the strike(s).
Shirah then proceeded to grab the victim by a man by the throat and choked him until he could not longer breathe.
Shirah is also accused of punching the man in the nose, resulting in swelling.
Shirah is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery and battery.
