Paolamacedo Reyes, 47 of Cedartown, was arrested this week after reports said she abandoned a 7 year-old child.
Reports said that they were dispatched to 600 North College Street, regarding a 7-year-old male juvenile who was running around the park and playing in the fountain completely nude.
Reports said that the mother left her child with an 18-year-old person with special needs to care for the child.
Reyes stated that it was okay for her to leave her child with the other person because of their age.
Investigators then discovered that the teen left the child to care for himself and being asked if he was responsible for the child. Witnesses stated the male turned around and ran, leaping over fences to get away from them. Witnesses stated that the child was left alone for approximately 1 hour before police were notified.
Reyes is charged with adandonment of a child.
