The District Attorney’s Office in Polk County announced this week that Edgar Cornejo-Reyes and Alonzo Cornejo-Reyes were sentenced for a shooting that occurred on February 14, 2024.

The shooting stemmed from an argument between the victim and Edgar Cornejo-Reyes at Walmart. The brothers then followed the victim to his home on West Jule Peek Avenue where they shot him six times. At the time of the shooting, Edgar Cornejo-Reyes was 16 years old. The District Attorney’s office filed to have his case moved to Superior Court.

Alonzo Cornejo-Reyes was sentenced to 40 years with 15 to serve.
