Richard Belton Turner, 54 of Cedartown, was arrested this week after reports said he whipped his child with a belt.
Reports stated that Turner used a belt to whip the child across the front and back of her legs, as well as her arms, after she failed to clean her bedroom.
The child also told police that Turner slapped her in the face and pulled her hair.
Turner is charged with battery, obstruction of a person making a 911 call, cruelty to children and terroristic threats and acts.
