Mrs. Myrtle Swindall Bright, age 77, of Cedartown, passed away Friday June 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Bright was born in Cedartown on August 26, 1947, the daughter of the late Oscar Shaw and the late Grace Williams Shaw. She was a devoted member of the Friendly Baptist Church and instilled her family with love, faith, and devotion. She always testified to others that she was proud of her raising and was blessed to have a loving mother and father that prayed with her children every night. Nothing brought her more joy than her children. She loved walks, talks, and all her time she got to spend with her family. In her spare time, she could be found thrifting, attending yard sales, and enjoying her favorite singer, Conway Twitty. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bright is preceded by her husbands, Billy Swindall and David Bright; son, Mike Swindall; and siblings, Butch Shaw and Ray Shaw.
Mrs. Bright is survived by her children, Billie Jean Swindall, Barbara Hopkins, John Swindall, Charles Swindall, and Dennis Swindall (Sissy); brother, Arthur Shaw; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchilden.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bright will be conducted Wednesday June 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Wimberly Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday June 18 from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour at 2:00 p.m. at Litesey Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as Pallbearers: Tyler Swindall, Joshua Pike, James Hopkins, Jeffery Hopkins, Daulton Swindall, Gage Hamilton, Nick Swindall, Chris Hulsey, and Larry Welchel. Honorary Pallbearer will be Casey Ray Shaw.
