Robert Charles Martin, 54 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he beat his wife in front of their children.
Reports stated that Martin shoved the 41 year-old victim to the ground and hit her in the head and face.
The victim also told police that Martin yelled abusive words toward her in front of their 12 and 14 year-old daughters.
Police went on to say that when they arrived on the scene, Martin was found intoxicated and covered in his own urine.
He was also found in possession of marijuana.
Martin is charged with battery, simple battery, disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana and two counts 3rd degree cruelty to children.
