Adrian Rangel, 41 of Cedartown, was arrested this week after he led police on a chase on his bicycle.
Reports said that officers attempted to pull over a bicycle that did not have headlights while riding down Canal Street.
Police said that after attempting to pull over the bicyclist, later identified as Rangel, he raised his hand to say “hold on a second” while he continued to pedal down the road.
Officers added that they then radioed for backup when the cyclist continued refusing to pull over. Eventually, reports stated that an officer pushed the bike to the ground. Rangel then refused to comply, prompting officers to pull their taser as he reached into his pocket and proceeded to discard a baggie that contained suspected drugs.
This prompted officers to tase Rangel.
Police stated that they were unable to locate the bag that was thrown, but did find a marijuana grinder and two THC vapes on his possession.
Rangel is charged with tampering with evidence, possession of a schedule I controlled substance, possession of drug related objects, failure to have property bicycle equipment, obstruction, and failure to appear.
