Destiney Renee Ross, 35 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she lied to authorities while being captured stealing items from the West Rome Walmart.
Police said that Ross attempted to conceal $59.11 worth of merchandise before leaving the store without paying.
Ross is then accused of giving police a fake name during her arrest.
Reports added that after Ross arrived at the jail she continued to forge a signature on her finger print card.
Ross is charged with first degree forgery, identity fraud, theft by shoplifting, giving false information to police, false statements and writings, and three counts probation violation.
