The Floyd County Courts have dismissed/nolle prosequi the charges of Bill Fraklin Douglas III 31 of Shannon. Douglas was arrested in April of this week after police said he was found driving drunk with children in his car. Nolle prosequi is a Latin phrase meaning “will no longer prosecute” or a variation on the same. It amounts to a dismissal of charges by the district attorney’s office.
Reports said that after being pulled over for not having a working brake light, officers discovered that he had been drinking and did not have his license in possession.
Police also said that a 10 and 11 year-old child was in the vehicle.
Douglas was charged with DUI, two counts endangering a child by DUI, driving without a license in possession, brake light violation and probation violation.
