A 37 year-old Rockmart man, Albert Ladel Ware Jr, has been arrested after reports said he led police on a chase that ended with two police officers being seriously injured.
Reports said that Ware led police on a chase of speeds over 115 mph down Rockmart Highway back in early April 26, 2025. The chase ended when the officers collided at the Spur 101 in Silver Creek
Ware had been wanted for an attack on a woman, at a home on Burnett Street in Rome, from March that saw him nearly kill her. Police said that Ware choked the 35 year-old victim to the point she could no longer breathe. She was left with visible injuries to her neck. A small child witnessed the attack.
Ware is charged serious injury by vehicle, attempting to elude police, aggravated assault, hit and run resulting in serious injury, simple battery, cruelty to children, speeding, failure to appear, reckless driving, passing in a no passing zone, parole violation.
