Jasmen Labronze Lofton, 44 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he caused a motor vehicle accident that resulted in the death of motorcyclist Jeffrey Scott Nelson.
Reports said that Lofton struck Nelson when he was conducting a left hand turn from the eastbound lane on Shorter Avenue instead of turning left from the central lane.
Lofton is charged with homicide by vehicle in the 2nd degree, improper lane change, failure to yield the right of way and probation violation.
