Michael Sylvester Dennis, 37 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he was found with drugs after running from police during an investigation.
Reports said that Dennis attempted to get away from the police despite repeated commands to stop.
After he was taken into custody, officers said that over an ounce of marijuana was found in his possession.
Dennis is charged with obstruction and felony possession of marijuana.
