Antonio R Soto, 60 of Cedartown, was arrested this week after reports said he imprisoned a woman inside a home on Irwin Street and refused to allow her to call 911 for help.
Police said that they were eventually dispatched to the home in response to a physical altercation between Soto and the victim.
Police said that Soto, while intoxicated, grabbed the victim by the hair and forced her into a couch, preventing her from leaving. He then took her cellphone so that she could not call 911 for help.
Soto is charged with false imprisonment, obstruction of a person making a 911 call, battery.
