Amilcar Sales, 24 of Cedartown, was arrested this week after reports said he attempted to choke a woman in front of children
Police said that the incident occurred during a verbal dispute between the victim and Sales.
Reports added that when the victim attempted to call 911 for help, Scales grabbed the phone and hung up the line.
The incident occurred in front of three children, all under the age of 14.
Scales is charged with aggravated assault, 3rdd degree cruelty to children and obstruction of a person making a 911 call.
